HKUST again attracts the largest number of HKPFS Awardees
HKUST has been drawing top PhD students from around the world with the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKFPS) established by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council. This year, the University has again attracted the largest number of awardees among institutions in Hong Kong, topping the list for seven consecutive years since 2012/13.
Among tertiary institutions in Hong Kong, HKUST has taken almost a quarter of the awardees (54 out of 231) in the 2018/19 cohort. Coming from different countries and regions, these brilliant PhD students will further enhance the University’s top-notch research and postgraduate student body.
Robust Research Infrastructure
HKUST provides strong infrastructural support for research. The 52 research institutes, centers and joint labs provide a favorable environment that fosters collaboration among disciplines, as well as generation of groundbreaking ideas to be experimented and realized.
